How to Make Working as a Stripper a Bit Easier

As a newbie in the adult entertainment industry, it’s understandable if you feel overwhelmed with everything. It takes more than social media likes and pole dancing classes to become a good exotic dancer, after all. Veteran strippers will tell you that the job is highly competitive in a misconstrued work environment. It is certainly not for everyone, but it can be a good means to earn above minimum wage.

Are you determined to enter the world of stripping? Here are some tips to help you along.

Auditions: Scope out establishments where you would like to work at. Don’t go for every open spot you hear about as you might not like the places. Once you have a list of prospects, give them a call and find out what their requirements are. Prepare yourself for the auditions the best you can and go for it.

Stage names: Pick a name that will be easy even for intoxicated customers to say. Limit it to two syllables at most like Lara or Ruby. A common name is also preferable as it would make people less curious about your real one. You don’t want to spend half of your nights fielding questions about that.

Outfits: As a minimum, you should have two lingerie sets that are expensive-looking. They don’t exactly have to be from luxury brands but they should appear impressive and classy. If you’re thick in the thighs department, stockings are always a good investment and will flatter your assets.

Attitude: Your resting face may be comparable to that of a supermodel but it can’t beat a smile. It gets even better when you’re confident in your own skin. Costumes and makeup are only half of the equation of looking confident on stage.

Customers: Rather than stress about money, learn to relax and have fun at work. Many customers are willing to spend more when strippers aren’t pressuring them. Also, you have to remember that dancing isn’t everything. Expect to also act as a counsellor of sorts and hear out their personal woes.

Dancing: You might not be planning to work in the industry for long but don’t be surprised when you get sucked into the black hole of fame and fortune. It’s always nice to have avid fans, good money, and freedom so it can be hard to leave them behind in the future.

Challenges: Etiquette for strippers can be different than etiquette for waitresses. There are no written rules to follow so you’ll have to rely on your intuition at times. Another thing that you should do is take self-defence classes. The world isn’t exactly at its safest at 3 in the morning, you know.

Being an exotic dancer is more complicated than you think, but remembering the above tips should guide you on how to become a good one.
